Rae has won the Margie R. Hanson
Distinguished Service
Award, given by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education to
professionals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of
physical education for early childhood and/or elementary school children at
the state, district or national levels. The award will be presented on April
2nd, at the annual convention of the American Alliance for Health, Physical
Education, Recreation and Dance, to be held this year in Tampa.
Rae's latest book, Physical Education for Young
Children: Movement ABCs for the Little Ones (Champaign IL: Human
Kinetics, 2008) is now available.
The 4th edition of Rae's
textbook, Experiences in Movement, has been released. Now titled
Experiences in Movement and Music, the text is published by Wadsworth
Cengage (previously Delmar).
